Hello confetti followers! Today I have another ornament tutorial. This one is very easy and fairly cheap! These would make perfect gift toppers for your loved ones so they can receive an updated family photo of you each year :)

Before I go through the tutorial, I have to give a shout-out to our amazing photographer Sarah Beirne of Sarah Beirne Photography.  She is so talented - but more importantly SO sweet to work with! She was great with the kiddos and you can just tell she loves what she does. So if you’re in the Cleveland area, be sure to check her out :) And stay tuned - we may have a fun blog post with her in the not-too-distant future!

Okay - so back to my family photo ornament. I finally found a cute basic wood photo ornament that I loved at JoAnns (and it was on major sale - 70% off!) so I scooped up the last four they had and got to work.  Unfortunately, I can’t find this one online, but check your local craft store for the perform ornament!

Steps:

Step One:  Grab your white paint (or whatever color you’d like the main circle of the frame to be) and a foam brush. Paint the inner circle. You may want two layers for better coverage.

Step 2: Now you will want to paint the leaves green. I started by painting all of the leaves the lighter green color. Once it dried, I then went back and painted a few of the leaves a darker green to give it some variation.

Step 3: Now that all of the paint is done and dry, you can either move on to add in your photo, or you can personalize with a gold (or any color) paint pen! I used a Sharpie Fine Tip Gold Paint Pen and wrote 2018 at the bottom with a heart at the top, and on another I wrote The Galls at the bottom and 2018 at the top. Do whatever you think is best!

Step 4: You can now add in your photo! We got out professional family photos printed in wallet size at Costco - they do such a good job and are cheap! Just trace the back of the picture ornament onto the photos to know what size you should cut them to be - and then insert! Voila! Easy, cheap, and done :)

Would love to see yours!! Tag me in your creations @confettifridays and I’ll feature you!
